“The God Committee” by Mark St Germain.
Medicine, money and morality clash when the Heart Transplant Selection Committee of St Patrick’s Hospital have only minutes to decide which of three patients will receive a heart that has suddenly come available. A cross between “Twelve Angry Men” and “ER”, the play takes us into the inner workings of a Transplant Program and a decision that is a matter of life and death.
The characters are as follows”
Dr Kierra Banks -surgical fellow (female late 20’s)
Nella Larkin-registered nurse and transplant coordinator (female 40’s to 50’s)
Dr Alex Gorman- cardiac surgeon (male 30- 40yrs)
Dr Jack Klee - senior cardiologist (male 50+)
Dr Ann Ross- psychiatrist (female 40’s)
Father Charles Dunbar –(male 50+)
Dominick Piero- head of social services (male 30-40yrs)
The play is set in the US, so accents will be required.
The audition is to be held at the Sutherland Memorial School of Arts on Sunday 5th July at 2pm.
