"Lucky Sods" By John Godber Directed by Peter Kirkwood AUDITION: Sunday 10th May 2009 at 2pm at Harbour Theatre, Princess May Theatre, Cantonment St (cnr Parry st), Fremantle WA. Jean and Morris, a working class couple from the north of England, never seriously expect to win the National Lottery. When they do however, their lives are turned completely upside down by their two million pound windfall. Their relatives become increasingly resentful and jealous. The cracks in their marriage widen as their past catches up with them. Then when Jean keeps on winning many questions need answering :- Are their lives changed for the better or worse? What should they do about all the begging letters? What should they do with all that money? Can money buy happiness? Will Morris's prophecy that bad luck always follows good turn out to be true? Is enough ever enough? These questions and more are addressed by John Godber (author of "Shakers" and "Bouncers") in this sharply observed, bitingly funny and deeply compassionate play.
