Absent Friends

Auditions will be held for Melville's second season of 2009 on

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 21st from 10 am

SEASON DATES: APRIL 24 TO MAY 9TH 2009

This is the story of a group of friends who decide to invite Colin round for afternoon tea in an effort to cheer him up following the death of his fiancee, a girl they have never met. When Colin arrives however he is already surprisingly cheerful - positively chirpy!. his inappropriate happiness has a strange effect on his friends and the afternoon does not proceed as might be expected!

CAST REQUIRED: 3 men, 3 women (note all ages given are STAGE ages)

Paul: 40-45   Rather pompous & a bully to his wife, not a very nice man!

Diana: 35-40  Emotinally fragile, unhappy

Marg: 35-40  Diana'sbest friend, appears rather shallow& a bit 'fluffy'- but really isn't

John 35-40  Friend of Paul & Diana. Not very smart, twitchy, Needs to have a believable & sustainable ''tic'

Evelyn: 25-3-   John's wife. Sexy, bored, bit of a slut. Actually quite intelligent, Has a small child, a boy

Colin: 35-40 Completeley oblivious that his unexpected cheerfulness is destroying Diana.
