BANNOCKBURN! The 'almost' true story!

The Phoenix theatre Company, in conjunction with 'A lad in sane productions' are staging the debut of Johnny Grim's new play in April 2009 at the newly renovated Hamilton Hill Memorial Hall (Corner of Rockingham Road and Carrington St). PS: The venue is looking fantastic! Eight performances will be held - dates - 29/30 April 1/2/6/7/8/9 May. Auditions will take place at the Joe Cooper recreation centre on Saturday the 31/1/09. Interested actors should contact Johnny direct to discuss all things BANNOCKBURN!Including: audition requirements / booking a time for an audition etc. Note: An obvious pre-requisite is that actors must be able to deliver a 'canny' Scottish twang. Red hair, whiter than white skin, and freckles by the hundred will be highly regarded. Note: The parts are open to men and women, given that the Scots sense of dress is one of cross gender, and real Scottish men are in such short supply (If that doesn't earn me a 'Glasgow Kiss' nuthin will!! If you're after a fun role, then this could be the one for you! Trust me! We're going to have a lot of fun with this one! The parts on offer: MAIN CAST: Hamish McTavish (Scenes 1/2/3/4/8/9/10/11/12/13/14) Age 18-25. Jock’s son. Good looking lad. Good build. Billy McTavish (Scenes 1/2/3/4 /8/10/11/12/13/14) Age 18-25. Jock’s oldest son. Handsome, muscular, cocky bastard, loved by the women. Angus Hamilton: (Scenes 2/3/4/8/9/11/12/13) 18-25: Son of Tommy. Sensitive type. Short, stocky build, geeky looking. Intelligent, bookworm, hopeless at sport etc. Gerald MacGowan: (Scenes 2/3/7/11/13) Age: 20-25: Handsome, muscular, openly gay, personal trainer type. SUPPORTING CAST Messenger: (Scene 1) Age 18-25. Preferably short of stature, thick set, okay, we'll take fat then. Note: It is intended that the actor playing this role will also play the role of Ewan (refer below). The messenger is a much older person, but the addition of a grey wig and some cunning makeup will suffice for his brief appearance) Ewen (Scenes 2/3/4/8/12/13) Age: 18-25. Younger brother of Logan. Not too reet in the head! I see the ghost of Marty Feldman!! Logan (Scenes 2/3/4/8/12/13) Age: 18-25. Like his brother.
