Auditionees will be called in lots of 8 every hour. Audition dialogue available on application and be prepared to do a Vocal and Choreo audition. Vocal Requirements: People who are auditioning for a role: Please prepare a song from a pre-1960 musical that is NOT written by Cole Porter. Vocal ranges will be tested to ensure that the show will be comfortable for you. People who are auditioning for the Chorus: We are looking for a minimum of 8 people for the Chorus, 4 female and 4 male. A variety of ranges are needed. Pick any song you are comfortable with. The Chorus tells the story and makes comment on the story which is a vital component for the success of the show. Be prepared to be busy. Casting Information – High Society Playing Season: April 17 to May 9 At Crete Street Theatre, Beenleigh CASTING INFORMATION: The Staff 18-40, 8-10 required, need to sing and dance, the backbone of the family and the show. Tracy Lord 24-30, singer/dancer, American (prefer Philly) accent needed, wardrobe designed to suit character. Vocal range F to E mezzo soprano. Dinah Lord 10-14, singer/dancer, must have working knowledge of French, role may be shared between two actors, commitment necessary. Vocal range A to E mezzo soprano. Mrs Lord Their mother, 40-50, singer/mover, society leader, character actress needed. Vocal range A to E mezzo soprano Mr Seth Lord Their father, 45-60, businessman, strong character. Vocal range A to G tenor Uncle Willie Relative and neighbour, 50-65, a roué, cheeky and charming. Vocal range G to G tenor. Mike Connor 25-40, singer/mover, a dreamer, gentle and kind. Vocal range G to F tenor, high baritone. Liz Imbrie 30-40, hard headed, good comic timing needed, singer/ mover. Vocal range F to E mezzo soprano. Dexter 25-35, man of the world, sporty, well-mannered, singer/mover, charming with sense of humour. Vocal range G to G tenor. George 30-40, gives sense of hard-nosed businessman with veneer of charm, can be pompous and over-bearing, singer/mover. Vocal range G# to F# tenor PLEASE NOTE: Call backs may be necessary – rehearsals will be Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday commencing Sunday February 8th – all potential cast members are asked to advise if times are not suitable. GENERAL INFORMATION: Band The production will feature a 5-6 piece swing band Set Designed by Derek Redhead and will be ‘just like a story book’ Costumes Measurements will be taken early as costuming will be set in last 30s/early 40s and will need to be finalized prior to tech week This production will be the most fun you can have with your ‘evening’ clothes on!! Dig out your tiaras, find those diamond bracelets, pick out your white tie and join HIGH SOCIETY
