WhipLash Theatre presents William Golding’s LORD OF THE FLIES Adapted for the stage by Nigel Williams 24th June - 4th July 2009 Subiaco Arts Centre (Main Studio) WhipLash Theatre presents the theatrical adaptation of William Golding’s classic novel Lord of the Flies. A group of school boys, evacuated from a potential war situation, find themselves on a small tropical island after their plane is shot down. There are no adult survivors… With universal themes of power, disorder, bullying and identity this show explores the parallel world in which we live. Its grim lesson shows how close we are to the beast within... WhipLash is casting adults in the roles of young school boys for this production. We are looking for an ensemble of male actors who can work collaboratively, with great energy and physicality. AUDITIONS: WHEN: SUNDAY 25 JANUARY 2009 at 10.00am WHERE: David Lawe Davies Centre, Guildford Grammar School, 11 Terrace Rd Guildford. THE AUDITION: All actors will participate in an open audition, rotating in groups with the text and participate in a number of group workshops exploring ritual, chants and movement.
