The Yeomen of the Guard

Gilbert and Sullivan's one opera! This stunning new production will be done in a contemporary style, but will not be updated from the 16th Century. It will be staged as opera. G&S Opera Victoria have an international reputation for excellence. John Slavin, Opera Critic for The Age described us as "Australia's foremost exponents of light opera". It won 4 Awards at the International G&S Festival in Buxton UK in 2007. Rehearsals begin in January for a March or April season. Principals rehearse Thursday evenings and some Tuesdays. Chorus nights are Tuesday nights. Some Sunday rehearsals prior to the performances. Needing especially mature men for the Chorus of Yeomen. There will be 5-6 performances in Melbourne as well as a possible Country season.
