Funky Zoo Productions

The Funky Zoo is a great new children’s theatre production about a little girl (played by an adult) called Leanne who mysteriously finds herself in a zoo at night. During her visit, she befriends the very funky animals in the zoo who teach her all about how to have fun and some important lessons about looking after the animals on earth. The play is a lot of fun with original songs and dancing. This play will also involve some physical theatre, directed by Jennie Rohr who recently joined with ATYP to teach physical theatre holiday programs. Some roles have already been filled. We still are looking for 3 male actors and 1 female. Charlie the kookaburra - The joker. Very friendly and lots of fun. Stephen the Echidna - Lonely, sad and wants to escape Brian the Wombat - The cool leader of the group. Kelly the Koala - Always sleepy from partying too hard. All roles involve singing and a bit of dance. The script is very ensemble based. 6/10/2008 Monday 9am - 4pm Set up/ Dress Rehearsal 8/10/2008 Wednesday 9am - 4pm Matinee and afternoon performance 9/10/2008 Thursday 1pm - 4pm Afternoon performance 10/10/2008 Friday 9am - 4pm Matinee and afternoon performance 11/10/2008 Saturday 1pm - 4pm Afternoon performance 12/10/2008 Sunday 9am - 4pm Matinee and afternoon performance The production will take place at the Newtown Community Centre Tickets will be a flat price of $15 Rehearsals will be at Sydney Uni- organised with cast to best suit everyone. The production will run as a co-op. There is 3 of us who have put up all the production costs, insurance etc. therefore it will run that after we have recouped those costs all profits will be split between the company. We are looking for people who are interested in coming on board not just as an actor but as members of the company and together we can work together at doing this production (and other ones) again. We are in negotiation to put it on at the Bondi Pavilion over the Christmas holidays. AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY ON MONDAY 21ST JULY FROM 10AM UNTIL 8PM.
