Essgee's The Pirates of Penzance

This classic Gilbert and Sullivan comic operetta has had a facelift and has been brought into the 21st Century firstly through a modern day production by Simon Gallagher & Essgee Entertainment Australia in 1984. It’s highly successful revamp starred Jon English and sparked a resurgence in popularity of all things “Pirate”. Now, in September 2008, the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre is delighted to present an even more modern version. This new production of an old classic is loaded with comedy, both spoken and visual and includes memorable songs which will stay with audiences young and old. We encourage all fun loving theatre performers to come along to our workshop to be held on Wednesday April 30, 2008 at 7pm with auditions to be held on Sunday May 11, 2008 at 9am sharp. We will be casting ALL ages for ALL roles, with a large chorus intended along with 7 lead roles. Modern singers are encouraged and operatically trained voices are NOT essential.
