Terry Pratchett's "Carpe Jugulum"
An hilarious battle of wills between vampires and witches.
The de Magpyrs are the sort of vampires that would have Count Dracula spinning in his grave. They are modern, forward-looking and no longer afraid of holy water, garlic, religious symbols or, indeed, of anything else.
They're out of the casket, and want a bite of the future.
Not only that, they've got style and fancy waistcoats.
Little do they know, that they should be afraid - very afraid - because the Lancre witches are on hand to save the Discworld and the battle is on!
The witches are about to "kick some bat"!
Fast-moving, funny and ingenious, Carpe Jugulum is a worthy follow up to the highly successful "Maskerade". It is Terry Pratchett's twenty-third Discworld novel - but the first to star vampires.
"Both his inventiveness and his moral shrewdness seem inexhaustible" - A.S. Byatt, Daily Express
SEASON: July 4 to 19 (wed to sat) at 8pm
WHERE: Bakehouse Theatre, 255 Angas Street, Adelaide
