Buddy!

Actors, singers and dancers are required for BCCT's 2008 season of Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story. The show brings to the stage to the story of Buddy Holly's music career from his early years with The Crickets in Lubbock, Texas, his rise to fame, his marriage to Maria Elena Santiago and his untimely death on a plane with The Big Bopper and Richie Valens. Accompanying Paul, our experienced director, will be Musical Director, Peter Thornton and Choreography by Belinda Johnston. This professional production team are looking forward to making Buddy a roaring success. With over 30 catchy songs from the 50's, rock 'n roll dancing and a touching story, this is sure to be a hit! Orientation will be held at the Fifth Avenue Theatre (Blacktown High School auditorium) on Monday 10th March, starting at 7:30pm sharp. Auditions will be held at the same venue on Monday 17th March, also at 7:30pm. Full details of what is required of auditionees will be outlined at the orientation evening. The main parts required are: Buddy Holly (director would ideally like someone able to play the guitar) The Crickets - Joe and Jerry Buddy's wife, Maria Buddy's friend/confidante, Hipockets Duncan But there is also a requirement for a large ensemble cast with lots of small speaking parts and plenty of singing and dancing to be done! Rehearsals begin on 19th March. There will be 6 performances will be from 11th - 19th July.
