About the play: Not all within the country home of Sir Robert Charles, Minister of Defence, is as it seems. The secrets of the Charles family are both surprising and hilarious. “Pass the Butler” is a riotous, ribald romp from Monty Python’s Eric Idle.
CHARACTERS:
HUGO - Male - 38 years - a portly aristocratic figure, who wears a cricket sweater and sports a jaunty bow tie to show he is eccentric and does not care.
ANNABELLE - Female - 38 years - Hugo's sister. Amorous and bonking the Butler.
NIGEL - Male - mid to late 20's - Hugo and Annabelle's younger brother. A somewhat violent Zen Buddhist.
KITTY - Sprightly nanny of sixty-ish
BUTLER - Male - 38 years - a stereotypical Butler. Has been in Sir Robert's service for 18 years.
LADY CHARLES - female - 60ish - dignified and forceful.
HARRIS - male - 50's - a journalist masquerading as a police inspector. From the lower classes.
RONNIE - male - Sir Robert's best friend and MP. Pompus and 60ish.
SLATER - male - 30 - 50 years. A police inspector masquerading as a journalist. From the lower classes.
