In April 2008 MATES Theatre Society will be staging the world premiere of the comedy "A Mid Life Crisis" which has been written by local, Redland Shire resident Margaret Dakin.
"A Mid Life Crisis" is a black-comedy dealing with the trials and tribulations of a middle aged couple; this journey, depicted so vibrantly by a local storyteller, begins on the morning after the fiftieth birthday party of the lead character 'Jack'.
While Jake and his wife Pat make the sudden discovery they have been married to the same person for twenty-five years, a series of fortuitous events and encounters with acquaintances lead the couple to the realisation their imperfections make them delightfully compatible.
MATES Theatre Society will be conducting a reading of this play on Tuesday evening 4th December at 7.30 PM at the Birkdale School of Arts Hall. Those who are interested in auditioning for this production are encouraged to contact director Ray Noonan to register your interest.
