Cast Needed for Dramatic Short Film

A short dramatic film is being produced by final year film students from Deakin University. It will be shot on the Mornington Peninsula over 4 days in September. The film is based on the true story of a recently widowed woman who stands to lose her house due to financial difficulties. However when her grandson and granduaghter come to stay for the weekend a miracle occurs which changes everything. The film will be screened at the Astor in November as well as being entered in numerous film competitions and screenings throughout the coming year. The roles we are looking to fill are: Mature Age Woman Age: approx. 65- 75 yrs Nationality: Caucasian Character Type: Lead Role Character Description: We require a female actor to perform role of an elderly woman. This character is quite frail, and the actor will need to be able to develop and portray an emotionally driven character. Female Child Age: approx. 10- 13 yrs Nationality: Caucasian Character Type: Lead Role Character Description: We require a female actor to perform the role of a young girl. The character, although young, is emotionally quite mature. The actor must be able to portray a character that is quite intelligent and aware of her situation. Male Child Age: between 6 to 10 years. Nationality: Caucasian Character Description/Requirements: Character Type: Lead Role We require a male actor to perform the role a young boy. This character is playful and content with his situation. The actor must be able to portray this character with a sense of innocence and a touch of mischievousness. Adult Male Age: 30 – 40 yrs Nationality: Caucasian Character Type: Support Role Character Description/Requirements: We require a male actor to perform the role of a business man. The actor must be able to portray a character that is emotionally disconnected from the situation. Adult Female Age: 30-40 yrs Nationality: Caucasian Character Type: Support Role Character/Requirements: We require a female actor to perform the supporting role of the children's mother. The actor must be able to portray a woman who is quite flustered and busy with the daily routines of being a mother, resulting in her being emotionally disconnected from the other characters within the film.
