Quality Street

In celebration of Garrick Theatre Club’s 75^th Birthday, Garrick will be presenting “Quality Street”, the show that conceived the idea of the Garrick Theatre Club. A charming comedy set during the Napoleonic wars of 1815. In a time where ladies became “Old Maids” in their late twenties, the search for love was every woman’s top concern. Hard as it was, it did not need the interruptions of the Napoleonic Wars to further hinder the pursuit of happy marriages. Miss Pheobe however does not let this stop her as she endeavours to recreate herself in the hopes of winning the man of her dreams. So why do these things never quite go to plan?

Audition Information:
Auditions for Quality Street will be held at the Garrick Theatre (unless otherwise notified) on the 4^th of August, 2007. If necessary, these will overflow into the following Sunday (5^th).

It is recommended that anyone who is interested in auditioning also attend the Reading which will be held at the theatre on the 28^th July 2007. The reading will commence @ 10 am and any final Audition Notices will be given there.

Audition participants should contact the director, Jeff Watkins, either via mobile 0408 094 899 or via Email labrug@yahoo.com to arrange an audition or to discuss options if they are unable to attend. If sending an email, ensure the title includes “Quality Street” or “Auditions” in the subject title.

Miss Phoebe Throssel – stage age about 19/20 * + 10. The Confusing Heroine.
Miss Susan Throssel – s.a. late 20s * + 10. The rather nervous and caring Sister.
Mr Valetine Brown – s.a. early to mid 20s * + 10. The Gallant but Oblivious Knight.

Other Principle Roles
Miss Patty * 19 plus + 10. The ever observant and wise maid.
Miss Willoughby – s.a. late 20s to early 30s * + 10. The Nosey Neighbour.
Miss Fanny Willoughby – s.a. early 20s * + 10. The Nosey Neighbour’s Sister.

* All of the above characters span a 10 year gap. In other words, you will need to be able to play both the younger and older characters.
