CORRECTION TO THE PREVIOUSLY ADVERTISED TIME OF AUDITION AND UPDATE ON AUDITION FORMAT

The auditions will start from 11 am and NOT 2 pm as originally posted.

Children will be auditioned FIRST between 11 am and 12 noon

They will be auditioned in groups, (Depending on numbers,) 10 at a time

 

Principals between 12.45 and 2.45 pm

Dialogue pieces will be available fro familiarisation - suggest an early arrival to do this

 

Chorus and Dancers between 3 pm and 4 pm, audition in groups

 

NOTE: all cast must be able to sing and move comfortably to music. Please bring backing tape or CD wherever possible

This is for anyone interested in the art of Pantomime, as in the old-fashioned British Christmas tradition! The Old Mill Theatre will present the traditional panto -Aladdin and his Magic Lamp for the end of the year entertainment. Auditions will be held at the theatre on SATURDAY July 21st from 11 am and will  be directed by Neroli Burton with Justin Freind as MD. From the team who brought South Pacific to you 

This will be a fun filled entertainment for all the family.

 CAST REQUIRED: Ho (Minister for fun & Games)

Emperor Abanazer (the villian)

The Horse

 Princess (must have good singing voice)

Wishee Washee (comedy role) Hong (comedy role) Kong (Comedy role)

Aladdin (Pricipal Boy, played by a girl as tradition demands, must have good voice , dance and possess good sense of comedy)

Widow Twankey (dame, played by a male)

 Handmaiden

 Gheni (Male)

Slave of the Ring (child , either sex age 7-9 of slight build)

 Chorus of Villagers, Martians, Dancers and Children, These do not have much actual dialogue but must be able to sing and move well. We will audition Principals first and Chorus afterwards. The audition time may need to be adjusted depending on the number of auditionees. 

The auditions will be run in a similar manner to the ones we held for south Pacific (for those who came to those!)

Principals will be asked to sing a  approriate type of song, ie a song from the Disney Aladdin or similar. NO heavy metal or anything too 'modern'. Please bring a backing CD if possible and a photo (does not need to be a studio portrait, a snap is fine)

CHILDREN: will be put through in groups and their singing will be from the chorus pieces in the show.

There will be a selection of script pieces for those who are auditioing for parts and these will be available on the day

This production will be played in true traditional pantomime style. Season will run November 22 to December 8th, Thursday to Saturday with two Sunday Matinees, and possibly Wenesdays, but this is yet to be decided. NOTE: ages have not been given as most roles are flexible. The Principal Boy and Girl need to be young, 16+ of course ,as does the Slave of the Ring, all other ages depend more on abilities than ages,
