Auditions for Low Budget Feature (Perth)

We are planning to hold auditions for “The Director’s Cut” on Saturday March 10th 2007. The shooting dates are: April 2nd-6th (days): Filming in Perth. Specifically Mt Lawley for a couple of days. AND April 9th-30th (a mix of days and nights): Filming on a farm roughly a three hour drive east of Perth. We are putting crew up and feeding them for the duration. (Those dates include travel days). Although there will be no money up front, crew can sign an agreement to take deferred payments when the film is sold. “The Director’s Cut” is a bloody, black comedy set in the harsh Australian outback and tells the tale of a tyrannical director attempting to shoot his first feature film on a farm in the middle of nowhere. When people start dying he has to decide which is more important: his crew or his film. We are looking for actors to audition for the roles described below: Bobby (26): The matronly producer. She’s just trying to hold the fort together. Ema (21): Tall, blonde and confident. Ema doesn’t mean to be mean, she’s just narcissistic. James (24): An eager actor who’s going to miss his opportunity. NOTE: This is more of a cameo than an actual role. Louis (27): Tall, handsome and softly spoken. An actor driven by lust, Louis gets by on his charm. Mike (30): A determined, amoral film director. Mike’s a good storyteller with nothing of substance to say. Paul (27): A quiet, sensitive screenwriter. He writes with passion but will let his creations be bastardised… unless he’s pushed too far. Ricky (25): A chemically inclined boom operator. Ricky is cool as a cucumber until he has a breakdown. Zeal: The good natured, vegetarian cook. At least he is until he meets an unlikely ally. Elijah (aka Jack) (50): A tough country farmer with an unusual vice. NOTE: This is more of a cameo than an actual role.
