Melville Theatre Company will present George Bernard Shaw's play "Pygmalion" for the June season,
DATE: Sunday April 22nd at 2 pm
THe musical My Fair Lady was based on this play, and while it used Shaw's language the ending was changed!
CAST REQUIRED: English accents required and STAGE AGES given
Liza 18, need to be able to use both cockney and 'upper crust' accents
Higgins 38-40 Precise, upper middle class, obsessed with linguistics
Col. Pickering 50 affinity with Higgins, kindly, bluff
Freddy 20 unambitious, upper middle class
Mrs. Eynesford-Hill, Freddy's mother 40-45 bright , confident
Clara Eyensford -Hill, 18 Freddy's sister, like her mother
Mrs. Higgins, Henry's mother, 60+ loves her son but is not blind to his shortcomings
Mrs Pearce, housekeeper 50-60 loyal, well-spoken, cares about others
Alfred Doolittle , dustman Liza's father 40's cockey whose philosophy of life brings him wealth and resposibilities1
Nepommuck late 20's former pupil, arrogant, opinionated
There are also roles for footmen, hosts, parlourmaids which can be doubled up so come along and be part of this wonderful classic play
