- a comedy/farce in 3 acts

Season: 1st June - 23rd June 2007

Terri and Phil are married and have a country cottage. Terri is a model and dress designer and is having a secret affair with Robin.

Phil is bi- sexual and is having a secret affair with Samuel (who is a raging queen!). Each of the two "couples" arranges to spend a weekend at the cottage - unbeknown to each other.

Phil's boss - the lecherous Mr Norman arrives with his "niece" called Samantha - both are soaked to the skin after a car accident. In the confusion, Robyn is introduced as Phil's wife and Samuel is introduced as Terri's ex husband.

The police arrive to investigate the accident - and further mis-introductions occur.  Then Phil's twin brother arrives which only adds to the mayhem.... and that ends the first Act! Like all good farces - the second act and then the third - stretch confusion and twists to the limit.

CHARACTERS

Phil Masterson  Good looking, Sales Executive aged approx late 20’s to early 30’s.  Married to Terri but is bi-sexual and currently having an affair with Sam.

Bob Masterson  Twin brother to Phil. A challenging dual role for an actor!  This involves a lot of costume changes for (Phil).

Sam de Ville:    “The Other Man” – Sam is slim, colourfully dressed and must be clearly gay in his speech and mannerisms.  He is prone to hysterical and melodramatic outbursts. In one scene his role calls for him to wear women’s clothes and high heels!

Robin Hartnell:  Dress Designer and Terri’s business partner and lover. He is approx 30 years old, handsome, elegant, refined and flirtatious.  The role calls for him to dress up and be comfortable in women’s clothes as he spends quite a bit of time in them!!

PC.Perkins
:  A typical country copper, slow, rustic but with his own particular kind of humour.  Great character part, which stands on its own

Mr. Arthur Norman:  Phil’s boss is a larger than life, a bossy, hectoring, and lecherous man.  He is clearly used to getting his own way and fancies himself as a ‘Ladies Man” . He enjoys trying to get a ‘bit on the side’ at every opportunity.

Terri Masterson: Terri is in her late 20’s to early 30’s, fashionably smart, pretty and in the fashion industry.  She has been having an affair with her partner Robin.  She gets confused as to just what is happening around her and has to think fast on her feet to get out of some tricky situations.

Samantha:  Young, pretty, sexy, (slightly tarty) arrives at the cottage as Mr.Norman’s ‘bit on the side’.  She has had a row with her boyfriend (Bob) and is surprised to find him at the cottage. They have great fun making up!

Mrs.Overall:  Cleaning lady and general help to the Masterson’s.  Droll sense of humour and ‘countrified’ accent required.

Susan Norman:  Long-suffering wife of Arthur.  She is very smart and well dressed, a no-nonsense person who is aware of her husband’s philandering.  She arrives at the cottage to find Arthur minus his trousers and of course demands answers.
