AUDITIONS FOR THE MUSICAL CAMELOT Book and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, Music by Frederick Loewe Director: Janet Brandwood, Musical Director: Heather Stewart Choreographer: Jan Coe SATURDAY 27 JANUARY 2007 FROM 10 AM At Stirling Theatre, Innaloo Community Centre, Morris Place, Innaloo SEASON: MAY 2007 This well known and loved musical tells the tale of Arthur and his knights of the round table and his love for Guenevere. As the story opens, we meet the magician Merlyn, who is living backwards and is thus unable to warn Arthur of the dangers in his future - as he has already forgotten them; how Lancelot will become his good friend, how Guenevere and Lancelot will fall in love, and to warn him about Mordred. In the second act of the show, when the years have moved on a little, we meet Mordred, Arthur’s son from a time before he met Guenevere, and Mordred’s aunt Morgan Le Fey and learn of the plot to destroy Arthur. Other roles include Sir Dinadan, Sir Lionel, Sir Sagramore and Pellinore. Pellinore first appears in rusting armour and is the comic character of the show. Lady Anne and Lady Sybil are two ladies in waiting to Guenevere. Camelot was first produced in New York in December 1960, with Richard Burton as Arthur and Julie Andrews as Guenevere.
