Hey everyone! This is an open call to any actors wishing to participate in a student comedy film production about Pirates! Essentially the film is a modern day period piece (That's an oxymoron if I ever wrote one!) highlighting a sort of clash of cultures. We open on the 16th birthday of Jack Roberts, the son of 40 something washed up pirate Edward Roberts. There is singing and dancing as we open on a musical number based on a classical pirate tune! The singing and dancing is brought to an abrupt halt upon the arrival of Jack! He has arrived to his party dressed as a ninja, having been influenced by their neighbours, who are ninjas! The film will be a barrel of laughs, while still highlighting the father son relationship as Edward tries to come to terms with his sons change of heart. EDWARD The character of Edward will be a bearded, rough as guts, crude individual, lacking in tact and hygiene. The sort of pirate, that when not drowning an enemy at the plank, will be drowning his sorrows in a bottle of rum. Not so much one who will have a heart-to-heart with you, as a cutlass-to-heart! He is in his forties. JACK The character of Jack is a young man coming to terms with reaching the point in his life where he has to make his own decisions, and having a hard time getting a word in edgeways so his father will understand what he is going through. He has just turned sixteen. BUCKO The character of Bucko is Edward's best friend and fellow pirate with whom he confides in dearly. He is approximately the same age as Edward, if not slightly older. MYSTERY CHARACTER There is also another character for a girl of around 16. The role of the girl will be disclosed to any who contact and are interested. All I will say is that the role is a small one in terms of screen time, but I major one in terms of importance to the story! The film shoot will be unpaid, but I will be more than happy to provide any actors involved with a copy of the film for inclusion in their showreels. Meals will also be provided during the duration of the shoot. Even if you do not see yourself as the characters based on the description given, if you feel you can bring something to any of these roles that can't be put on paper, contact me! I am also seeking the services of someone with basic gymnastic or acrobatic skills, preferably male for the sake of continuity, but any gender will be considered. So if you are someone, or know anyone with these skills who would be eager to participate in this project, don't hesitate to get in touch. This will be a fun project with an easy going atmosphere, but a professional outlook nonetheless. Auditions will be held on Thursday the 2nd of November, with the shoot commencing in the week of the 12th of November at a yet to be determined location. Auditions are at the KvB Institute of Technology. 99 Mount Street, North Sydney, NSW It is a short distance from the train station, directions will be provided to those interested. Thank you very much everyone, I hope to hear from you soon! This is an ambitious undertaking, but the right cast will make all the difference! If you can see yourself in any of these roles, and are interested in being part of this fun, unique project, contact me at: Mauricio Cesana Time Bomb Productions timebombproductions@gmail.com 0423 134 025 Also, please ignore the contact number for the KVB Institute of Technology which is in the venue information.
