Jane Austen's most popular novel as adapted for the stage by Constance Cox. Set in the genteel rural society of English Regency period, the story follows the initial misunderstandings between the lively Miss elizabeth Bennett and the haughty Mr. Darcy. They have to overcome these predjudices as well as the dramas created by by the deceitful Mr. Wickham, the snobbery and interferences of Miss Bingley and Lady Catherine de Burgh, and , for Lizzie the trials of having poor relations and a mother who borders on the ridiculous. alonside this is the romance between Jane and Mr. Bingley, desired by many and frowned on by a few,an estate entailed away from the Bennett family to the pompous and simpering clergyman, Mr. Collins, and a flirtatious younger sister causing scandal. all of this makes for the audience an evening of drama, humour and, above all - romance.
