Debut outing for 'A lad in sane productions' A comedy / love story. Auditions were held on the 16/9/06 with two roles filled. Rehearsals begin early October. PARTS ARE STILL AVAILABLE, refer below. PRINCIPLE CAST (25-35 stage age) Note: The female roles, require the actors to perform one very silly five minute karaoke number. A good voice is not a pre-requisite, however, lots of enthusiasm is. If you're looking for a fun part to end the year on, then this could be it.. THE CHARACTERS PAUL Consistently three steps behind today’s fashion. Often described as a man living on the edge of nerdsville. Hair receding far too early, somewhat overweight, due to severe dislike of all thing sporting. Intelligent, often serious. A man seeking the affections of a good woman. Hobbies, model train making, watching documentaries…need we say more? MATT Paul’s long time friend and mentor, an up to date, interesting, educated guy, full of charm and wit, a lovable rogue, or at least that’s how he described himself on the Internet chat lines. In reality, he’s a lazy git, but he carries it well. A charmer with the women, he likes fast cars, drinking with his mates, the Dockers, good food, lazy weekends, etc...etc... SOPHIE An attractive and dizzy blonde. A hairdresser by day, and partygoer by night. Likes include, shopping, glossy mags, gossip, parties, cheap wine, and handsome men. JANET Sophie’s best friend. A plain Jane sort. A touch shy, some say too reserved for liking. Seeking the love of a romantic and sensitive man. A secretary, she likes window shopping, weekends away in quiet places, reading good books, intelligent men...oh, and she wants a boyfriend, sooner than later.
