Follow The Light is a contemporary musical that tells of the story of Christmas
in a fun, rockin' new way -- y'know, the one with the manger, star, sheep and
the whole shebang... Despite the title and subject matter, FTL is not meant to
be a "religious" musical; it is not meant to preach or cater to any particular audience.
Rather, it is a retelling of the story, dramatised to create three-dimensionality
and aimed particularly at teenagers, young adults and the young at heart. Think of it as a
tongue-in-cheek and hilarious (but not irreverent) modern interpretation, if you will -
one that will hopefully amuse and entertain through contemporary songs that range
from pop to rock to disco to punk. For more info, including downloads of the script
and song demos, pls visit http://nicmaniac.tripod.com.

Criteria:
- Strong vocal skill

- Some dance/movement ability
- Due to the style of the piece, contemporary (especially rock/pop-capable)
voices are preferred, but if you're classically-trained, don't let that stop you! - Please bring along a CV with photo and two songs of your choice,
one slow and one fast, which best demonstrate your ability.
These don't have to be musical theatre songs; radio stuff is fine! - You may bring a backing track OR sheet music for our accompanist.
Musicians are also needed:
- guitar, drums, bass guitar, flute,
trumpet/trombone, violin, viola, cello. - For the guitarists and drummer, the ability to recognise chords, play by ear
and improvise based on demos is crucial, as well as a grasp of complex rhythms. - For the other musos, notation will be provided.
MUSOS, PLEASE CONTACT NICK TO ARRANGE AUDITIONS.
