Synopsis:
Synopsis
Into The Woods
Works on all levels at its basic level it’s a drama/comedy fairy tale of all the characters we are familiar with from the pages of our story books. At another level it is a look at mankind, at our culture, upbringing, and how this can and does, influence our actions. Basic desires that we want to be fulfilled drive us to manipulate, lie, cheat, steal in some form or other.. The characters vary from passive aggressive, the ‘nice person’ to the Witch who lays her cards on the table.
Into the Woods is also about how when we delve into ourselves, our own ‘woods’ tangled, scary, and dark as it may be, we can discover not only our weaknesses but our strengths. It’s a ripper of a musical, with all the right components for success, but just as important, it’s a journey that is infinitely satisfying.

The team:
Andrea Ford has been a professional and community theatre director for some time, is passionate about Sondheim and in her day job is Artistic Director for many Events.
Lieut Steven Stanke is MD for the Royal Australian Navy has been M.D. professionally for several Sondheim productions including Into The Woods and is also obviously passionate about Sondheim
Gabriel Alexandrescu: Is an opera singer, singing teacher and music woodwind teacher and has been M.D. for several of Andrea's previous productions.
Jill Collinson: Is ex Australian Ballet, adjucates ballet exams and is also very experienced in her field.
Pat Morton: Set Design has won several awards for her set design.
