we're looking for a cast of 10 (6 male, 4 female) to perform this hit american musical. it is set in west verginia (sorry i don't know how to spell that) the time is the present.
At the audition you will be asked to sing one piece (without accompaniment unless you bring someone to play for you).
you do not need to prepare anything else other than the song as we will ask you to improvise a short scene with one of us etc.
verry little dance involved in the production, the steps will be reasonably simple.
Characters:
Bat Boy (edgar):
tennor
1/2 boy 1/2 bat, charachter is meant to be 15, but is usually played by someone in their 20's.
Shelly Parker:
this role has been filled.
Meredith Parker:
mezzo or soprano
Shelly's mum, wife of Dr Parker, middle aged (can be played by someone youngish).
Dr Parker:
tennor
Shelly's dad, middle aged (can be played by someone late 20's)
Sherriff:
tennor
mid to late 20's.
The other 5 roles are double cast.
male roles are all tennors except 1 high barritone.
female roles will be cast with no lower than a mezzo.
all performers must have a strong voice.
