A solo performer who writes and performs theatre pieces based on the lives of ordinary people. David will conduct a workshop on his unique method of devising stage work. This workshop is perfect for the theatre artist/practitioner interested in producing a solo piece. And if you already have an idea for a one-man/woman show - participate in this workshop and develop your idea futher.
Please note that this workshop is not age specific - all ages and emerging artists are encouraged to enroll.
Presented by the Perth International Arts Festival in partnership with Be Active BSX - Theatre. Be Active BSX - Theatre is the youth initiative of Black Swan Theatre and Healthway, providing emerging artists with exciting opportunities and exposure to the professional theatre industry in Western Australia.
The workshop will run for three hours:
First Hour will be a presentation from David Kodeski and discussion of his work and what inspires/influences him as an artist;
Then a 1 1/2 hour masterclass where participants share their inspirations and explore their ideas for producing solo work, with David's guidance;
Before concluding with a 1/2 hour question and answer session.
Participants are encouraged to bring objects/materials and prepare at maximum a 5 minute presentation of their idea/s for producing a solo piece.
