While NIDA is best known for its Acting graduates, the school also offers unique courses in Design, Technical Production and Production Crafts.

Graduates are in great demand with a 100% employment rate, often employed before they even graduate! They work in film, theatre, television, opera, dance, animation, puppetry and events.

This year NIDA will host a Free Information Evening Day on these courses in Sydney and Melbourne.

The information Evenings take place:

SYDNEY: Wed 6 September 5:30pm

MELBOURNE: Tue 12 September 5.30pm

The information evening will provide detailed information on the content and structure of these courses. You will discover that it may not be as difficult to get in to NIDA as you think! You donÂ’t necessarily need a lot of previous stage or screen experience. Students come from diverse backgrounds, with varying levels of experience in theatre, film, television or other arts areas, including fashion, architecture or the visual arts.

And NIDA does accept students who have just finished high school, particularly in these courses.

You will also learn about the diverse and exciting careers of successful graduates from these courses, both in Australia and overseas.

Graduates include: Catherine Martin, Academy Award nominated designer of Strictly Ballroom and Romeo and Juliet; designers Kym Barrett and Angus Strathie, also members of the Baz Luhrmann film crew; Aubrey Mellor, Artistic Director of MelbourneÂ’s Playbox; Moffatt Oxenbould, former Artistic Director of Opera Australia; Garry McQuinn, Managing Director of Back Row Theatre Productions in the UK; Ben Gannon, producer and driving force behind The Boy From Oz and the television productions Heartbreak High and Wildside and Anna Borghesi, designer of the acclaimed Australian movie, Head On and the ABC television series, SeaChange.

Graduates of these courses may be found working on all major events and productions in Australia and overseas. These include the new Baz Luhrmann film Moulin Rouge, the Fox Studios Backlot, and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Graduates can also be found in all Australian theatre and opera companies and festivals.
