Neil SimonÂ’s Brighton Beach Memoirs is the first play in Neil SimonÂ’s
autobiographical trilogy, which also includes Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound. Many consider the Brighton Beach Trilogy to be SimonÂ’s finest work.
Set in Brooklyn in 1937, it is a wonderful story of a family coping with changes and events beyond their control. For the adults, the depression and the on-set of war. For the young, puberty and racing hormones.
Simon weaves these events into a humorous and insightful work.

EUGENE 15 years old. A young Neil Simon, wise beyond his years. A major role requiring a strong actor with comedic flair.

BLANCHE 38. Widowed, asthmatic, mother of 2.

KATE 40. Big-hearted but now financially insecure.

LAURIE 13. A very annoying little sister whoÂ’s been spoiled all her life.

NORA 17. Lovely, enthusiastic and nicely developed budding actress.

STANLEY 18. A nice guy with the gift of the gab, principled.

JACK 40 plus (looks older). The provider, finding it harder to make ends meet with 3 extra mouths to feed.

Every role in this play is great! All require strong acting ability
Ages quoted are approximate. Brooklyn accents required.
