Auditions this weekend are being held for The Notre Dame Drama SocietyÂ’s production of Lovers and Executioners. Set in 17th century France and written entirely in verse this black comedy is based around 4 characters whose love turns tragically (and comically) to revenge when they believe they have been betrayed.
We are looking to possibly cast the following characters:

Frederic/Julie: 18-25 female
Julie is left on a desert island by her husband, she escapes and returns –disguised as a man (Frederic) to incarcerate her husband for her own murder.

Guzman: 18-25 male
The comical servant of JulieÂ’s dark husband Bernard.

Donlope: 18-25 male
An over the stop Spanish conquistador trying to win the heart of BernardÂ’s new fiancé Contstance.

Octavious: 18-25 male
FredericÂ’s dignified servant, he reluctantly helps Julie on her mission of revenge but he is also deeply in love with her.

Beatrice: 18-25 female
ConstanceÂ’s sarcastic and often sour maid. She offers the play a clever commentary on the role of the lower class in 17th century French Society.

The auditions are being held at Notre Dame University in Fremantle on the 26th and 27th of July. For an audition time please call Jo on 0412 567 397 or email at Javabar@aol.com

Scenes will be given for a reading therefore no one needs to prepare anything. If you are interested and cannot make it this weekend please let me know and we will make another time.

Look forward to seeing you there,
-Jo Somerville
