Character Briefs
Rachel Sullivan
Rachel is in her late twenties to early thirties, but feels as if sheÂ’s in her late forties. For many years she has felt as if she were no longer truly living - trapped and meaningless in her role as a wife and mother. We find her in a time of life where she has decided to take action against all this. In doing so she finds a side of herself that is deliciously evil, in the manner of Richard III.
Like Richard III we are made akin to the plotting and planning of HarveyÂ’s Earthly demise through a series of blackly comic direct addresses. It is the challenge of the role that we must have our sympathies aligned at all times with Rachel.
Harvey Sullivan
Harvey is the perfect man. Kind, well paid, caring, good looking for his early-to-mid-thirties, attentive, funny, charming, a loving fatherÂ…
Yet despite all this we are to be made to despise this man for his perfection. As his perfection always seems to cast Rachel in a bad light.
Connie & Max Sullivan
Connie and Max are little mirrors to their father – with him having taken over ALL the parenting duties. (A source of extreme annoyance to Rachel) They are beautiful, almost calendar worthy children in looks. Their behaviour is cute and loving to the point of annoyance.
The childrenÂ’s ages could be anything from 6-10 years old.
