Barmaids

Nancy and Val are two barmaids who work at a wharfie's pub in Fremantle. They take pride in their work and their regular customers are important to them. They are bitter and angry when a new board of management prepares to turn "their" pub into a boutique pub with skimpies to attract new custom. This very human comedy is a once in a lifetime opportunity for two actors who can pour a beer (or learn to), entice audiences to sing karaoke and engage with the audience as the "tart with a heart". This play will transform the KADS theatre into a working bar and will be directed and produced by the award winning team of George & Terry Hackett.

Two readings will be held on the fifth and nineteenth of July at the KADS theatre at 3:00 p.m. Auditions will be also held at the KADS theatre on August 10th at 2:00 p.m. The play will be performed between the 2nd to 29th November 2003.
