Details
AddressMarloo Theatre, Marloo Rd GREENMOUNT
We are seeking 2 males & 2 females to join the chorus in Marloo Theatre's upcoming production of Jack The Ripper - a melodrama written & directed by LaVerne Kirton. The production will take place in JULY 2003 & anyone interested can contact LaVerne for more info.
Synopsis: Jack The Ripper is a bawdy, music hall melodrama, NOT to be confused with other stage versions, of which there are quite a few. This
version, is definitely a 'comic' one and bears no resemblance in following the actual sequence of events of the Rippers' reign of terror in the EastEnd. Although Jack is set in Victorian England, Poetic Licence has been taken with the introduction of "Sweeny Todd" and his off-sider
"Mrs.Lovett", who have their own secret agenda!!
A wide variety of music hall songs and a few monologues are included in the musical of "Jack" and the production generally lends itself to audience participation as in traditional Music Hall.
