Blackbird Productions are pleased announce auditions for the August production of You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown - the musical.

Please take the time to read the following information carefully.

Audition bookings will be taken from MONDAY 5 MAY 2003 and will close FRIDAY 23 MAY 2003.

You will need to call 0410 628 389 to arrange an appointment. You will need to give your name and contact number and also state which role you would like to be considered for, so please ensure that you have read the character breakdowns below carefully.

Auditions will take place at the Clocktower Centre, Moonee Ponds and are strictly by appointment only.

Please ensure that you bring a current performance resume and headshot, unfortunately these can not be returned.

Please note that this production will be a co-operative venture with a set rehearsal payment.

The production is scheduled to play from 8 August 2003 through to 23 August 2003 at Chapel Off Chapel

Charlie Brown
Age Early twenties

Background
Charlie is “Everyman” – He wants to get it right…. But then there is everybody else…..
An innocent abroad, he does not always get the right message when he observes the world around him.
Slow to start but ALWAYS there at the finish
Hounded by ‘Lucy’, surprised by the others, still in love with ‘the little red haired girl’

Requirements
Wide eyed innocent look, probably fair
Strong acting, Comic timing, singing, some dance

Lucy
Age Early twenties

Background
Lucy is the archetypical North American Matriarch – She is ALWAYS RIGHT! Well as far as she is concerned anyway!
Bossy, pushy, and BEEWDiful!
DoesnÂ’t suffer fools gladlyÂ…. Unfortunately, the world is full of them!
Has a crush on Schroeder… “Well isn’t he talented and going to be successful”…. Even if he does not understand!

Requirements
Cute, probably dark hair
Strong acting, Comic timing, singing, some dance

Snoopy
Age Early twenties

Background
He is a dog! And probably a heÂ…?
A great observer of human nature, a philosopher, and amuses himself with his vibrant imagination!
If they would only remember to fill his supper dish!

Strong acting, Comic timing, singing, Extravagant, energetic dance

Schroeder
Age Early twenties

Background
Serious, talented artiste devoted to his toy piano and Beethoven!
Served with a clear imagination, this sees Peter Rabbit as the hero Robin Hood!
A huge challenge to LucyÂ… on all levels!

Requirements
Mime playing Piano an advantage
Strong acting, Comic timing, singing, some dance

Sally
Age Late teens, Early twenties
Background
CharlieÂ’s little sister, has a keen sense of justiceÂ…. And injustice!
The only one who can really challenge Lucy. She may be younger but she is probably brighter than everyone expect Schroeder

Requirements
Cute, a family likeness to Charlie Brown would be an advantage
Strong acting, Comic timing, singing, some dance

Linus
Age Early twenties

Background
Linus would be happiest with his blanketÂ…. Someone you can trust.
Easily lead, he is a ripe picking for the likes of Lucy.
Philosophical, he will probably end up in a university, lecturing in humanities!

Requirements
Cute, gentle, huggable!
Strong acting, Comic timing, singing, some dance
