Summer, 1962. Malibu Beach. Sun, surf, sand, and ‘Chicklet’ Forrest wants nothing more than to learn to ‘shoot the curl’. Ride the waves. And who better to study under than the Great Kanaka? The macho king of the surfers, who rode the killer wave off the coast of Bali... handcuffed.
But something isnÂ’t right...
People are turning up shaved from head to toe by a mysterious assailant. The star of “Sex-Kittens Go To Outer Space” has disappeared from the set of her latest film. Surfers are coming out. And who, exactly, is Ann Bowman, the dominatrix who has risen to claim her birthright: World Domination?
The big luau is only days away. Will our heroes thwart her evil scheme in time? Will Chicklet learn to surf? Will they still have time to prepare the finger foods? Will any of these questions be answered?
Blak Yak is proud to present this bizarre hybrid of the best the Sixties had to offer: beach movies, bikinis, psychological melodramas, bikinis, surf guitar, bikinis, laughter, and... surfing. Not to mention the bikinis!
The following roles will be auditioned on May 4th at Perth Football Club, Lathlain Oval.
the guys:
The Great Kanaka: (mid 20s- mid 30s)
The macho king of the surfers. a living legend, practically as famous as the President of the United States. the epitome of cool. The living end. The absolute most, to say the least... you get the picture.
Starcat: (early 20s)
Full time surf bum, sometime psychology student. Tall, dark and brooding. the most handsome of the group.
Provoloney: (late teens- early 20s)
Scrappy little surfer. The joker of the group who is strangely attracted to his best buddy.
Yo-Yo: (late teens- early 20s)
A handsome young beach bum who does wonderful things with hybythcuth. ProvoloneyÂ’s best buddy.
Nicky: (late teens- early 20s)
A cavorting beach bum.
the chicks:
Berdine: (late teens- early 20s)
A hopeless nerd with spunk. Well versed in existentialism and reads Dostoyevsky for fun.
Marvel Ann: (late teens- early 20s)
A gorgeous, blonde high school vamp.
Bettina Barnes: (mid 20s- mid 30s)
A glamorous, sex-kitten movie star on the run from the studio in an effort to be taken seriously as an actress.
Mrs Forrest: (late 30s onwards)
A 1950s housewife with delusions of Joan Crawford.
Dee Dee: (late teens- mid 20s)
A sexy chick in a bikini.
