SYNOPSIS
Professional photographer Stewart Reid is celebrated for his unflinching images of global deprivation and Third World suffering, most famously a photograph of a horrific Taliban execution in Afghanistan. Rejecting his career, he has turned his back on his work and now lives in semi-reclusion, only to be tracked down by an inquisitive young black reporter determined to investigate his life. The skeletons come tumbling from the cupboard and a painful and tragic background is uncovered, one that Stewart has desperately tried to forget.

A powerful and deeply moving play, Buried Alive unfolds in multiple locations in Edinburgh and England across a span of twenty years as it reveals the malign influence of the past upon the present.
