As The World Warps

Chrissy, a TV-obssessed couch potato, takes her soap operas seriously. As a matter of fact, she takes them so seriously she runs over an actress who plays the resident bitch on her favourite show, 'As The World Pivots'. Unintentionally killing herself in the smash, she is sent to Hell where she is given a suitable punishment: to spend eternity as a character in 'As The World Pivots'.
Initially overjoyed at what seems to be a dream come true, Chrissy soon realizes that a cheesy, badly-written soap opera is no place to live and her mind is soon consumed with only one thought - escape.

This one-act dark comedy by the writer/director of this year's 'The Great Unwashed' is currently being prepared for the 2003 Fringe Festival. It will run at the Fly By Night Club in Fremantle, February 4-15 (The season might run a few days longer, depending on the venue's availability).
The roles on offer are:

CHRISSY: A morally-deficient couch potato (Mid 20s);
SATAN: Ruler of the underworld, entrepreneur;
GEORGE: Suburban soap dad; nice but sexually frustrated (Early 40s);
CHASTITY: George's wife; nice but a man-hater(Early 40s);
BRAD: Their son; nice but annoying (Mid-late teens)
GILL: Their daughter; nice but paranoid (Late teens);
HELEN: An insidious nymphomaniac who lives in the mangled body of a recently-deceased actress (Mid-late 20s)

Please note that not just age-appropriate actors are being looked at; all ages are invited to audition. Please prepare a 1-3 min. monologue; choose whatever you want, though comedy is preferred.
